To find out more about the Italian university system and lifelong learning
The use of the term "master" in Italy, which should not be confused with Italian postgraduate degrees, refers to a "specialization course at the higher education level" that was instituted by art. 3, para. 9, of Ministerial Decree 270 of 22/10/2004. These courses are usually only open to candidates who already possess an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
The diagram illustrates the Italian university system after the reform of the university organisational model introduced by the Bologna Process. This process aims to standardise the various university systems in Europe.
