Established in 1997, the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano is a young, modern educational institution looking to the future.

Multilingualism is one of our strengths; classes are held in German, Italian and English and take the form of seminars, lectures, work placements, practical lab sessions and conferences. Besides being tutored very closely during their time with us, our students can benefit from the university’s international approach by attending courses at other universities abroad for one or more semesters.
The University Council is the highest governing body and together with the Academic Senate plans the University’s strategy. From language courses to cutting-edge technology, passing through the Library, the University’s Services’ main task is to support the teaching and research undertaken at the University and to guarantee the best conditions possible for fruitful study for students and academic staff alike. To achieve this, continual innovation and development is a key factor.
