Tutor StudentsWhat are Tutor Students?  

Tutor Students are experienced students who can be of help in the orientation and guidance of other fellow students in matters related to study life.

These students have specifically applied for the Student Tutors position within the 150 hours students jobs, and have been selected by the Faculty.

Task: Orientation and Guidance of Current Students

  • Faculty Council: composition, duties and tasks, how to submit a request…

  • Advisory Service: tasks, services, web-pages, how to contact them…

      In case of specific questions, they can give advice and redirect students to the appropriate persons or offices.

      Task: Study related matters  

      Study offer:

      Information and orientation in:

      • pre-requisites of courses (which courses should be taken first, is the knowledge of the student enough to take a course…)
      • choosing streams (different specialization and research area, feedback on level of courses…)
      • choosing free choices
      • choosing special programmes (European Masters, BIT school, exchanges) general help and advice related to subjects, programmes and lecturers

      Study Support:

      • tutoring on the content of courses
      • help in understanding lectures, exercises etc.
      • general discussion on course topics
      • support of students who are taking longer to finish the study course and are out of touch with lecturers and fellow students

      Study materials:

      Assistance in finding on line materials, books in library, lecture notes, additional readings, specific bibliographies.

      General Support:

      Learning and personal difficulties, lack of motivation, insecurity and self-doubt, excessive pressure, mobbing, etc. 

      Task: Information to Prospective and Current Students and Promotion of the Faculty  

      Tutor Students are available to give general information via e-mail on study and life in Bolzano to interested prospective students. They also provide information on housing, and together with our Student Representatives they have set up a map with the location of the different Student Houses.

      Tutor Students contribute to the informational offer of the Faculty by developing ideas and suggestions for:


      Tutor Students participate and contribute to the planning and development of events such as:

      • "Orientation Day": meeting with newly enrolled students, who receive information on the different sides of studying at FUB
      • Information session for current students of the Bachelor: orientation on streams, internships, thesis, degree course for working students
      • "Open Day": students form the high schools visit FUB and receive information of future study possibilities

      Task: Student life  

      • Orientation in town
      • Orientation in free time
      • Organization of self-financed events such as dinners, trips, movie evenings

      Tutor Students can organize meetings, outings and excursions as a part of their job.
